Susanne Becken is a Professor of Sustainable Tourism at Griffith University where she focuses on research related to the science-policy-practice interface of transforming tourism.
Previously, Susanne worked for the Department of Conservation, Lincoln University and Manaki Whenua.
Susanne is passionate about helping improve the environmental performance of tourism and has worked extensively on topics such as sustainable transport, climate change mitigation and adaptation, tourist behaviour and destination management.
She is an elected Fellow of the International Academy of the Study of Tourism. In 2019, she was awarded the prestigious UNWTO Ulysses Award for her contribution to tourism knowledge.
