Mick Abbott is director of wildlab.org.nz a design and research group founded on regenerative and nature-based design principles. WildLab works with government, iwi, community and industry partners to design experiences, communication tools and services that strengthen people’s connections with nature. Mick has had a lifelong involvement in the outdoors, including completing some 30 years ago a 130 day solo traverse of the South Island that included 40 days travelling through Fiordland and multiple crossings of the Main Divide. Mick is Professor Emeritus at Lincoln University, and a member of both the NZ Conservation Authority, and the NZ Geographic Board.
