Rainclouds push in from the north. A rainbow bends its back onto Cook Strait. Looks like rain, but the preps for the big day go ahead . . .

The rotunda at Shorland Park, Island Bay, Wellington is fully prepped for sound. The sky starts to clear.

 

At the entrance to the park Bob Harvey the first TAT chairman, and Roger Wilson, the present chair chat . . . and wait.

The Governor-General’s black limo cruises to a halt. TAT trustee David McGregor is to hand as Sir Jerry Mateparae steps out and hongis Geoff Chapple.


The 7th Battalion Wellington / Hawkes Bay Military Band strikes up
