Two American backpacking ambassadors, Patrice and Justin La Vigne, have launched a U.S.-based speaking tour, “Exploring New Zealand: Thru Hiking Te Araroa and Beyond.”

Starting Monday, May 1 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the free speaking events will stop at 29 retail stores, 1 brewery and 1 town library across 17 states. The tour will wrap up in Denver, Colorado, on Monday, July 24.

Patrice and Justin will share photos, Te Araroa route information, New Zealand side trips, Leave No Trace advice and gear recommendations in their 75-minute presentations. This is the second nationwide speaking tour about Te Araroa initiated by the couple.

The husband-wife duo have collectively hiked 12,000 miles worldwide and walked Te Araroa during the 2014-15 season. Patrice has written a travel memoir about their hike and is currently securing a publisher.
